Microwave irradiation of sodium hydroxide (naoh) under vacuum and a stream of nitrogen gas producedcatalytic quantities of hydrogen peroxide (h2o2) that was confirmed by passing it into acidified potassiumiodide (ki) aqueous solution with starch indicator.
