SYNTHESIS AND MICROBIAL STUDIES OF 2- [(3-TRIFLUOROMETHYLPHENYL) AMINO] -3- [N^4-{N^1-(SUBSTITUTED BENZOTHIAZOLYL) SULFANILAMIDO}CARBONYL] PYRIDINES

2-[(3'-trifluoromethylphenyl)amino]-3-[n^4-{n^1-(substitutedbenzothiazolyl)sulfanilamido}carbonyl]-pyridine 7a-m containing different functional groups have been synthesized by the condensation of 2-amino substituted benzothiazoles 1a-m and p-acetamidobenzenesulfonyl chloride 2 in pyridine andacetic anhydride mixture. the title compounds and their derivatives have been characterized byanalytical and spectral studies (ir and 1h-nmr). all the compounds have been screened for theirantibacterial and antifungal activity. some of them found pronounced antibacterial activity.
