چکیده    Fecl3·6h2o or nicl2·6h2o efficiently catalyze the three-component coupling of β-keto ester, substituted arylaldehydes and urea or thiourea to afford the corresponding 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1h)-ones/-thiones.the reaction works in the absence of solvent, the yield are high and goes to completion within 20–40 secs.
