چکیده
|
1,5-benzothiazepines 4a-j have been synthesized in 75-90% yield by a microwave promoted condensation of 2-aminothiophenol 3 and various chalcones 2 in the presence of catalytic amount of glacial acetic acid using methanol as a reaction mediator. the work-up is simple and involves treatment with ice-cold water. the structures of the compounds have been confirmed by elemental analysis and spectral analysis. all the compounds of this series have been evaluated for their antibacterial activity.
