   TEMPLATE SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF COBALT (II) AND NICKEL(II)COMPLEXES WITH A NEW TWELVE-MEMBERED TETRADENTATE MACROCYCLIC LIGAND

چکیده    Cobalt(ii) and nickel(ii) complexes of the general compositions m(l)x2 [l = 3,8-diethyl-2,6,9,11- tetramethyl-1,4,7,10-tetraaza-cyclododeca-1,3,7,9-tetraene and x = cl^-, no3^ -, ncs^- and ½ so4 ^2- (for co(ii)), cl^-, no3 ^- and ncs^- (for ni(ii)) have been synthesized. the complexes have been characterized on the basis of elemental analysis, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility measurements, ir, electronic and epr spectral studies. the complexes are of high spin type. the octahedral geometry has been assigned to the nickel(ii) complexes and distorted octahedral, tetrahedral and square pyramidal for cobalt(ii) complexes.
