چکیده    The protective and therapeutic effects of milk camel on some cancer biochemical markers in blood of aflatoxin b1 (afb1) intoxicated rats were assessed. the selected parameters include glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase (got), glutamic pyruvic transaminase (gpt) gamma glutamyl transferase (ggt) urea, uric acid, creatinine, bilirubin, hemoglobin (hb), cholesterol, triacylglycerol and glucose. each animal was intraperitoneally injected with a single dose of afb1 (0.075 mg/kg body weight). after 21 days of afb1 administration, all the above selected measured parameters were elevated in blood except hemoglobin which showed a significant decrease in comparison to normal healthy untreated group. ingestion of as milk camel (obtained from three types of camel fed on different sources of diets) as a prophylactic agents agaist afb1 toxicity revealed normalization of some of the studied biomarkers including, creatinine hemoglobin and, triacl glycerel, however the other markers showed non-significant change in comparison to afb1-treated . milk camel administration after afb1 intoxication showed high therapeutic effects indicated by amelioration of the changes in blood biomarkers induced by afb1. results of the therapeutic groups were compared with other groups treated with either the anticarcinogenic drug endoxane-asta or treated with milk camel mixed with small amounts of urine. this suggests that milk camel might, therefore, be a suitable candidate drug against the carcinogenicity of afb1.
