Investigations have been carried out on the kinetics and sorption of sulphate ions on amberlite ira-416 anion exchanger in the oh^- form by using a modified bath technique. different parameters such as effective diffusion coefficients, activation energies and entropies of activation for the exchange kinetic measurements were reported .they were made as the function of particle size of the anion exchanger, the solution concentrations of the exchanging anion, temperatures, and organic solvents. the slowest step governing the exchange rate at higher concentration was found to be due to the diffusion of ions through the exchange particles. the effective diffusion coefficients were computed at four different temperatures; 27, 41, 55 and 70 °c .it was seen that the values of the diffusion coefficients were found to increase by increasing the temperatures. the increase in the exchange rate with the decrease in particle size of the resin and with increase of temperature have been discussed.
