The rise and fall of the chaks in kashmir (962-993 a.d.)maryam moeininia1ph.d, department of history & civilization of islamic nations,science and research branch, islamic azad university, tehran,iranhadi alemzadehprofessor, department of history & civilization of islamic nations,science and research branch, islamic azad university, tehran,iranthe chak family emigrated to kashmir in the sahh dyve rajahgovernment(701-720 a.d), and a branch of them under pando chaksleadership was settled in trehg?mand served shahmiri,s soltans atadministrative and army positions and converted to the imami schoolcoincided with the arrival of mir shams al-din muhammad iraqi tokashmir.this article is investigated the rise and fall of the shiitebranch of this family and its role and function in the political, socialand cultural aspects of kashmir in a descriptive-analytical methodbased on historical texts, particularly the baharestan shahi. althoughchaks ruled over the territory of kashmir in a short period (962-993ad), and by their internal conflicts and presence of mongols in india-babryan invasion-,were able to extend their authority and effectiveactions, to develop the shiite school in this land so that there is today.keywords: kashmir, chaks, shiits, mir shamsal-din muhammadiraqi, baharestan shahi.1. email (corresponding author): moeeninia@ut.ac.ir
