نظریۀ روایت بیکر و ظرفیت‌های پژوهشی آن در مطالعات ترجمه

مقالۀ حاضر به شرح نظریۀ روایت بیکر می‌پردازد و حوزۀ پژوهشی جدیدی را در مطالعات ترجمه به خواننده معرفی می‌کند. برای این منظور، مفهوم روایت در علوم اجتماعی که مبنای نظریِ کار بیکر است شرح داده می‌‌شود و مدل پیشنهادی او برای تحلیل ترجمه از منظر این نوع روایت‌شناسی معرفی می‌شود. در بخش دوم، برخی از پژوهش‌های انجام شده در چارچوب این نظریه توصیف می‌شود تا خواننده با ظرفیت‌های پژوهشی آن آشنا شود. هدف، فراهم آوردن نقشۀ راهی برای راهنمایی پژوهشگران حوزۀ مطالعات ترجمه است. پس از بررسی پژوهش‌های انجام شده، پیشنهادهایی مطرح می‌شود؛ از جمله: بررسی استعاره‌ها و مفاهیم موجود دربارۀ ترجمه و مترجمان از منظر روایت، تحلیل نقش مترجمان در روایت‌سازی، بررسی روایت‌های ساخته شده از طریق ترجمه، مطالعۀ روایت‌های سازمان‌ها و نهادها با استفاده از ترجمه، پژوهش دربارۀ شیوه‌های مختلف قاب‌بندی در کار مترجمان، خبرگزاری‌ها، ناشران، وبسایت‌ها و سازمان‌ها و چگونگی روایت‌سازی با استفاده از این قاب‌ها و ارزیابی انسجام روایت‌های گروه‌های فعال مترجمان و دیگر سازمان‌ها بر مبنای الگوی روایت‌شناختی.

Baker’s Narrative Theory and its Research Potentials in Translation Studies

This paper first describes Baker’s narrative theory so as to introduce a new research area in Translation Studies. In so doing, it defines the concept of narrative in social sciences, which is the basis of Baker’s work, and explains Baker’s proposed model for the analysis of translation in terms of this type of narratology. It then presents the research potentials of the theory by sketching some research conducted within the framework of the narrative theory. It is intended as providing a map for other Translation Studies scholars.  Having analyzed the studies in this field, the present paper suggests the following potentials: investigation of the existing metaphors and concepts on translation and translators; analysis of the role of translators in narrativemaking,  analysis of narratives made through translation, examination of narratives made by organizations and institutions, studying different strategies of framing in the works of translators, news agencies, publishers, websites and organizations and analysis of narrativemaking through such frames; and finally assessing the coherence of the narratives made by activist translation groups and similar organizations on the basis of narrative paradigm.
