بررسی نسبیت زبانی در ترجمۀ رمان «الشحّاذ» اثر نجیب محفوظ در دو موضوع اوقات شبانه روز و جنسیت

تفاوت های فرهنگی بین جوامع مختلف و نگرش‌های گوناگون نسبت به دنیای پیرامون، نه تنها موجب تفاوت در آداب و رسوم و عادات می‌شود، بلکه در واژگان و ساختار دستوری زبان نیز تاثیرگذار است. این موضوع در زبانشناسی نوین تحت عنوان نسبیت زبانی مطرح و از آن به‌عنوان نظریه ساپیر وورف تعبیر می‌شود. ترجمه یکی از مباحثی است که می‌توان آن را در چارچوب نسبیت زبانی مورد بحث و بررسی قرار داد. مترجم به منظور هماهنگ کردن ترجمه خود با زبان مقصد باید تفاوت های واژگانی یا دستوری را مدنظر قرار دهد، چراکه عدم توجه به این تفاوت‌ها در دو زبان مبدا و مقصد ممکن است باعث ابهام در ترجمه و یا حتی لغزش شود. در این جستار نویسندگان بحث نسبیت زبانی را در ترجمه رمان الشحاذ یکی از آثار برجسته نویسنده نامدار مصری، نجیب محفوظ در دو موضوع تقسیم اوقات شبانه‌روز و جنسیت مورد بررسی قرار داده‌اند. نمونه‌های ارائه شده در این جستار نشان می‌دهد که محمد دهقانی در برگردان برخی عبارت‌های حاوی اوقات شبانه‌روز و نیز ساختار جنسیت، نسبیت زبانی را مدنظر قرار نداده است و در نهایت باعث شده ترجمه وی در برخی موارد مبهم و در مواردی دیگر دچار لغزش شود.

The Study of Linguistic Relativity in the Translation of “AlShahaz” (The Beggar) Novella by Naguib Mahfouz in Two Subjects of Gender and Day and Night

Cultural differences between different societies and different attitudes towards the world not only cause differences in custom and habits, but also affect the lexical and grammatical structure of the language. This issue is addressed in modern linguistics as linguistic relativity, and is interpreted as the SapirWorf Theory. The topic of translation is one of the topics that can be discussed in the context of linguistic relativity. The translator must take into account lexical or grammatical differences in order to harmonize his translation with the target language. Because ignoring these differences in both the source and target languages may cause ambiguity or even errors in translation. In this paper, the writers have examined the relevance of linguistic relativity in translating the novel AlShahaz (The Beggar) by Naguib Mahfouz into two themes of division of day and night and gender. The examples presented show that the translation of Mohammad Dehghani, despite all the aesthetics and delicacies, contains sentences that the translator has not considered linguistic relativism in the division of day and night and gender structure, and that the translation ultimately contains ambiguous expressions, and it is not even without errors.
