بررسی رابطۀ فیزیک و متافیزیک در زمینۀ مسالۀ واقعیت فضا و زمان

هدف ما در مقالۀ حاضر توضیح چگونگی تاثیر متقابل علم و متافیزیک در بحث فضا و زمان است. خصوصاً بر این نکته تاکید خواهیم داشت که، بر خلاف تصور رایج، تحولات در نظریه های علمی و فیزیکی می تواند در اتخاذ موضع فلسفی و متافیزیکی ما در قبال واقعیت فضا و زمان تاثیرگذار باشد. به این منظور ضمن بررسی براهین سنتی جوهرگرایان و رابطه گرایان دربارۀ فضا و زمان، که خصوصاً در مکاتبات لایبنیتز و کلارک مطرح شده است، تاثیر متقابل علم و متافیزیک را با توجه به زمینه های نظری جدید مثل، اتخاذ ساختار نونیوتنی یا نظریۀ میدان و نسبیت خاص و عام، نشان خواهیم داد و در پایان به این دیدگاه نزدیک خواهیم شد که با در نظر گرفتن نظریه های علمی جدید، مثل نظریۀ نسبیت عام اینشتین، دیدگاه جوهرگرایان در مورد فضا و زمان فعلاً قابل دفاع تر به نظر می رسد.

On How physics Could impact on the Metaphysics of Space and Time

This paper aims to illustrate the mutual interrelation of physics and metaphysics in the context of the philosophy of space and time. We especially emphasize, in this paper, that scientific development could impact on our position regarding the reality of space and time. To illustrate this point, we investigate the mutual interrelation of physics and metaphysics in the modern developments of physics, i.e. neoNewtonian structure, special and general relativity (GR). This paper ends up anticipating that it is likely, by considering modern physics, especially GR, that substantivalism to be a more defensible position.
