چکیده    A study has been carried out to remove iodide ions by using electric arc furnace slag as solid waste from steel mill industry. the effect of ph,particle size dosage,contact time and initial concentration was investigated. adsorption is influenced by ph of the aqueous solution and the optimum ph was found to be 2. contact time studies showed equilibration time is between 3000 and 4000 min for initial iodide concentration range 50-500 mg/l. the maximum adsorption capacity was found to be 43 mg/g at optimum ph 2. the equilibrium data were analysed by using the linear form of langmuir and freundlich isotherm. the langmuir model was found to describe well the equilibrium data with r2= 0.96. pseudo-second-order kinetics model was fitted best to the experimental data. © school of engineering,taylor’s university.
