|
Nowadays, one of the significant challenges is the large volume of various types of waste, including agricultural, urban, industrial, and animal waste. if not properly managed and utilized, these wastes pose significant risks to human health and cause severe disruptions. the growing of demand for sustainable energy, and power generation from municipal solid waste (msw) needs to be increased. gasification combined with an internal combustion engine offers a promising approach to convert waste into energy. this paper presents an analysis of the operating parameters and emissions of such a system. syngas produced from waste gasification is used as the fuel for the internal combustion engine to evaluate its performance and emissions. key indicators such as output power, gas composition, electrical efficiency, and exhaust emissions were measured. the data showed that waste composition varies daily and seasonally. so, the aim of this paper is an environmental analysis of the msw gasification process, with the assumption of various waste composition uncertainties via monte carlo simulation. a monte carlo simulation model was developed using matlab r2020a to assess the uncertainty in the system’s performance. the results provide mean value amounts for net power output, fuel consumption, and emissions. the mean emission values for co, no, and co₂ were 13%, 10.5%, and 14%, respectively. the system demonstrated a fuel consumption of 861.05 g/kwh and generated an average power of 10.42 kwh. findings indicate that a gasification system with an internal combustion engine can produce sustainable power with high electrical efficiency and low emissions.
