|
In the present study, the onset of double diffusive reaction-convectionin a fluid layer with viscous fluid, heated and salted from below subject tochemical equilibrium on the boundaries, has been investigated. the generalizeddarcy model is employed for the momentum equation. the fluid andsolid phases are considered to be in local thermal equilibrium. linear andnonlinear stability analyses have been performed. for linear analysis normalmode technique has been used and for nonlinear analysis minimal representationof truncated fourier series has been used. the effect of lewis number,solute rayleigh number, reaction rate and prandtl number on the stability ofthe system is investigated. the effect of various parameters on stationaryand oscillatory convection is shown graphically. a weak nonlinear theorybased on the truncated representation of fourier series method is used tofind the heat and mass transfer
