بررسی تقریر نوین شلنبرگ از مسئلۀ منطقی شر

جان شلنبرگ در تقریر جدیدی از مسئلۀ منطقی شر می‌کوشد از راه ناسازگاری منطقی ترکیب مدعیات خداباوری با وجود شر، روایت جدیدی از صورتِ منطقی مسئلۀ شر ارائه دهد. سه ادعای خداباورانۀ تقریر وی شامل برتری تفوّق‌ناپذیر، استقلال وجود‌شناختی و خلوص پیشین است. شلنبرگ برای نشان دادن ناسازگاری منطقی ترکیب وجود خدا و وجود شر، دو رویکرد الگوگرایانه و انگیزه‌گرایانه را در پیش می‌گیرد. هدف او از به‌کارگیری این دو رویکرد بسط استدلال برای افزودن گزاره‌های تکمیلی ضروری به چهار گزارۀ اصلی استدلال است. بنابراین، آنچه از مجموع سه لازمۀ خداباوری و گزاره‌های تکمیلی به دست می‌آید این است که در جهان شر وجود نداشته باشد، و این منطقاً با وجود شر در جهان ناسازگار است. این مقاله با روشی انتقادی در صدد نشان دادن نادرستی استدلال شلنبرگ است. بر این اساس، از طریق اشکالاتی تلاش شده کذب مقدمۀ (8) به عنوان مقدمۀ محوری استدلال شلنبرگ نشان داده شود. با نشان دادن کذب مقدمه (8)، مصونیت استدلال شلنبرگ نسبت به دفاع مبتنی بر اختیار نیز نقض می‌شود. از این رو، در مقاله حاضر، افزون بر نقدهای جِروم گِلمن بر مقدمه (8)، نقد دیگری از طریق قیاس ذوحدین بر مقدمه (8) مطرح شده است، که نادرستی استدلال شلنبرگ و ضعف استدلال وی نسبت به کارکرد دفاع پلنتینگا نشان داده می‌شود.

a critique of schellenberg’s new logical argumentfrom evil

in a new formulation of the logical problem of evil, j. l. schellenberg attempts to develop a new version of the logical form of the problem of evil through the logicalinconsistency of the conjunction of three theistic claims with the existence of evil.schellenberg, by appealing to three commitments of theism: unsurpassable greatness (ug), ontological independence (oi), and prior purity (pp), adopts twoapproaches the modeling and the motivation to demonstrate the inconsistency of the conjunction of these theistic claims with the existence of evil. to pursue this aim, schellenberg develops his argument by adding supplementary propositions to thefour claims. therefore, what is shown from the conjunction of the three theistic claims and additional propositions is that there is no evil in the world, whereas this is logically inconsistent with the existence of evil in the world. this paper through an analytical-critical approach aims to show schellenberg’s argument is not sound. to show its falsity, this paper has focused on premise (8) as the central premise of schellenberg’s argument. by showing its falsity, it would alsobe vulnerable to the free will defense. in addition to gellman’s critique over premise (8), this paper also poses a dilemma over (8) to show schellenberg’s argument is not sound and it cannot avoid plantinga’s rebuttal.
