بررسی و نقد دلایل مخالفت کارل بارت با الهیات طبیعی

مواجهۀ کارل بارت ‌‌_ الهیدان برجستۀ سوئیسی اوایل قرن بیستم‌‌ _  با الهیات طبیعی، نتایج دامنه‌داری در تفکّر الهیاتی قرن بیستم داشته است. نگاه عموماً ناهمدلانۀ بارت به الهیات طبیعی‌‌، به مدت چند دهه سبب شکل‌گیری نگرشی منفی به آن‌‌، خاصه در حلقۀ دوستداران و رهروان مکتب او شد که بی‌وجه‌‌، غیر ضروری و حتی زیان‌آور به‌نظر می‌رسد. نظر به اهمیت این موضوع‌‌، به هدف نقد اصولی موضع بارت‌‌، ابتدا ادلۀ بارت به وجودشناسانه‌‌، معرفت‌‌شناسانه، نقلی و عملی تقسیم شده و سپس ضمن مدلّل کردن آن‌ها به بررسی و نقد این ادله پرداخته شده است. موضع بارتْ عموماً واکنشی و بر پایۀ تعبیری محدود و نارسا از جایگاه و نقش الهیات طبیعی استوار بوده است و دلایل نقلی و معرفتی بارت در اثبات موضع او ناکام بوده‌اند. بارت به ‌سبب همین تعبیر نارسای خود از الهیات طبیعی‌‌، از این واقعیت تاریخی غافل مانده که در بخش وسیعی از تاریخ‌‌، معتقدان به الهیات طبیعی اتفاقاً دغدغۀ دین داشته‌اند و از همین‌رو‌‌، نه‌تنها تضادی بین باور به انکشاف و گرایش به الهیات طبیعی نیست که اتفاقاً این دو متقابلاً موجب استغنای تفکّر انسان و گشوده‌ شدن افق‌های جدید در فهم هستی می‌شوند.

A Critical Study of Karl Barth’s Opposition to Natural Theology

Critical analysis of Karl Barth’s opposition to natural theology shows that it is demonstrably based on a narrow understanding of natural theology and is mostly shaped through his reaction to the misuse of theological concepts during the heydays of Hitler’s rule over Germany. In his increasing opposition to natural theology in its various implications and forms, Barth seems to have been basing his arguments on ontological, epistemological, biblical and practical grounds as he leaned heavily on revelation as the sole basis of all that pertains to the formation of faith and dogma. By engaging Barth in the aforementioned areas, it will be shown that Barth’s arguments fall short of consistency in that they contain false designations of natural theology by focusing on a limited and outdated version of it, an inherent vicious circularity, a highly selective interpretation of respective biblical texts as well as a fallacy of relevance. It will be argued that the concept of revealed theology is not necessarily opposed to a constructive approach to natural theology, which seeks to appreciate the manifest glory of God in creation as an unfolding secret observed and understood through the rational faculties within the human mind.
