An Approach to Selecting a Suitable Supplier

Supplier performance measurement has attracted much attentionfrom researchers. in the supply chain concept, supplier performancemeasurement results reveal the effects of methods and potentialopportunities for selection improvement. performance measurement isan indispensable management tool. this paper presents a fuzzy decisionmaking approach to supplier selection problem. many quantitativeand qualitative factors such as quality, and flexibility and delivery performancemust be considered to determine suitable suppliers. in thispaper, linguistic values are used to assess the weights for these factors.evaluations have been carried out to assess particularly the effectsof suitable suppliers on the supply chain service. an approach to improvesuitable supplier performance in an unsuitable environment hasbeen analyzed.
