چکیده    The absorption performance and evolution of the organic dye disperse blue 1 (db1) in dioxane at different concentrations was investigated. the nonlinear absorption coefficient has been measured through the open aperture zscan technique, whose values increased exponentially from 0.997×10^-3 to 11.7×10^-3 cm/w as the dye concentration increased from 3.7×10^-5 to 74.6×10^-5 m. also, db1 optical power limiting characteristics appeared at high laser light intensities, whereby very dilute solution of the order of ~10^-4 m was sufficient to limit the transmitted ‎power of the incident laser light by ~90%.
