درباره تاریخ مشهور مسئله اصالت وجود

در میان معاصران، روایت تاریخی مشهوری برای مسئله اصالت وجود مفروض دانسته شده است که طبق آن نقش‌های اصلی از آنِ ابن‌سینا، سهروردی و صدرا است و میرداماد نقش مکمل روایت را به عهده دارد: ابن‌سینا، در تقابل با متکلمان اشعری، قائل به زیادت وجود بر ماهیت در ذهن می‌شود؛ سهروردی این تمایز را در خارج انکار می‌کند؛ میرداماد این مسئله را به شکل مسئله دَوَران اصالت میان وجود و ماهیت تنظیم می‌کند؛ و در نهایت، صدرا نظریه اصالت وجود را پدید می‌آورد. استدلال خواهد شد که این روایت تاریخی در همه بخش‌هایش دچار نقص‌ها و اشتباهات تاریخی است. اولاً به لحاظ تاریخی محل نزاع بوده و هست که آیا ابن‌سینا مدعی زیادت وجود و ماهیت در ذهن بوده است یا در خارج. ثانیاً، نزاع تاریخی بر سر زیادت خارجی یا ذهنی وجود در میان شارحان و مفسران ابن‌سینا دامنه وسیعی داشته است. ثالثاً، سهروردی تنها یکی از فیلسوفانی است که در این نزاع وارد شده و علیه تابعان مشائیان استدلال کرده است. رابعاً، تنها متنی که بر اساس آن طرح مسئله اصالت وجود به میرداماد منسوب شده است، منحول است؛ و خامساً، میرداماد و صدرا در همین نزاع کهن وارد شده و  بر سر حل آن اختلاف ‌نظر داشته‌اند.

On the Notorious History of the Problem of Primacy of

Within the contemporary literature, there is a common ground about the history of the problem of primacy of existence. According to this notorious story, the prominent roles are those played by Ibn Sina, Suhrawardi and Sadra; and Mirdamad plays a complementary role: Ibn Sina, in contrary to Ashari Mutakallemun, claims that existence is something added to essence in mind; Surawardi denies that this distinction is in reality; Mirdamad articulates the problem as a disjunction of primacy of existence or essence; at the end, Sadra presents the thesis of primacy of existence. It is argued that all these historical information are incorrect. Firstly, there is a controversy on whether Ibn Sina believes in the distinction of existence and essence in mind or in reality. Secondly, there was a vast debate on the distinction among philosophers after Ibn Sina. Thirdly, Suhrawardi is one of many who come in the debate and argue against the Followers of Peripatetic Philosophers. Fourthly, the text based upon which the articulation of the problem is ascribed to MIrdamad is mistakenly thought to be among his writings. Fifthly, Mirdamad and Sadra come into this traditional controversy, but have different views.
