Victim makes a basic factor in the occurrence of any crime. criminal policy must not regard the victim as a person submissive to the crime; rather, it must regard him or her as a person effective in the process of the offense. through changing behaviors of those who are targets of crime as well as the circumstances in which the crimes may be committed, we can prevent victimization. today, victimology seeks to find out causes and factors of the phenomenon of crime and how to prevent it. in addition to making the proper cultural atmosphere and background, protection of the targets of crimes, weak persons and giving the right instructions to them are among the protective measures to combat victimizationin the islamic criminal policy, there are various teachings that encourage the victim to have an active role in the prevention of the offence rather than a submitting to it. in addition to a brief discussion on the causes of victimization, various methods for prevention of this phenomenon are dealt with in this article.
