|
A polymethylmethacrylate(pmma) microstructured polymer optical fiber (mpof) is fabricated and characterized. usingthe cut-back technique the fiber loss ismeasured which is higher than the step-indexsilica fibers. through a novel experimentalscheme, the backward stokes spectrum of thefabricated mpof is recorded over a rangeexceeding 3000 (cm)^(-1)during the cut-backmethod and compared with that of step-indexsilica fiber. especially, the gain coefficient of theraman peak at 2950 (cm)^(-1)is directly measured,that is without comparing with other knownmaterial. the results show a very goodagreement with those obtained through otherexperimental schemes.
