This article will attempt to examine the governmental structure of the islamic republic of iran in a historical process. the 1979 revolution is considered one of the important turning points in the history of iran. the article firstly investigates the factors that lay the ground for the occurrence of the revolution. understanding this period will considerably help us to interpret the post-revolution period. then,the governmental structure will be explored in order to identify radical changes that have been undergone since the revolution.
