Criminal Justice Policies for Children and Young Persons: the Blurred Boundaries, Adulted Children and Young Persons

The available studies point out that criminal policies for adults have tough-ened, and a punitive attitude has begun to pervade even in countries, where the model of protective welfare state prevails. the neoliberal paradigm that governs all living spaces reshapes law and justice as well. this article, based on the findings of an inter-national research program, which turkey is also included in the last three years, sets forth how this punitive attitude and neoliberal wave have affected the criminal justice systems for children and young persons, and reveals that criminal justice for children and young persons has begun to lose its specific privileges and that children and young persons have increasingly begun to be treated like adults.
