the techno-scientific turn in translation studies

The article attempts to sensitize translation studies scholars to the potential interdisciplinary relationship between translation studies (ts) and science and technology studies (sts). the article argues that the developments in translation technology (i.e. in translation machine and cat tools) have brought about some extra-technical possibilities in translation technology, including the issues of power, gender, ethics, lingua-cultural balance, technological support of languages and economy. then the authors attempt to argue how sts could provide ts with theoretical and methodological capacities to address these issues.
