Challenges of Machine Translation in Persian,Using Three MT Systems

Nowadays many people talk about machine translation and computers' potentialsfor this purpose. due to lack of sufficient or proper understanding of computerpower in this area, in this paper first a brief introduction of mt is given. the outputof three mt systems dealing with persian and english, namely pars, padideh andgoogle are then evaluated. it is not the aim of this paper to underestimate theefforts of individuals and companies producing these systems; rather, we aretrying to show that machine translation is a huge undertaking and heyond theresources availahle to individuals and companies. therefore, there is a long wayahead to attain systems capahle of producing perfect translations
