باستان‌شناسی شناختی؛ در جست‌وجوی مادّه‌ی ذهن

مقدمه: هدف این مقاله، ارائه ی تعریفی از باستان شناسی شناختی، مرور خاستگاه ها و تحولات آن در طول زمان، موضوعات و چارچوب های نظری وابسته به هر یک از منظرهایی است که در طول زمان به نسبت باستان شناسی با علوم شناختی مبذول شده است. روش: ادبیات اصلی باستان شناسی شناختی، به شیوه ی کتابخانه ای، مرور و به نحوی دیالکتیکی درون جریانات معرفت شناختی اصلی این رشته جای گرفته و براساس چارچوب های فکری خاص خود طبقه بندی شده است. چارچوب های نظری موضوعات و مسایل گوناگون مطرح در باستان شناسی شناختی در قالب دو گروه مادّه گرا و ذهن گرا تحلیل و نظریه ی گیرایش مادی به عنوان شالوده ی اصلی باستان شناسی شناختی، همراه با مطالعه ی یکی از مصنوعات فرهنگی متعلق به فرهنگ و تمدن آشور نوی باستان تشریح شد. یافته ها: مطالعه ی »مخروط گِلی « آشوری در چارچوب نظریه ی گیرایش مادی نشان داد که بخش قابل توجهی از جایگاه و شخصیت پادشاه آشوری درون کیهان شناسی آن تمدن باستانی را نمی توان به مفاهیم و کدهای ذهنی ناب تقلیل داد، بلکه به شکلی فعال، از طریق، همراه با و مبتنی بر وضعیت های مادی شکل می گیرد و تقویت و بازتولید می شود و از مخروط گِلی می توان به عنوان ماده ی ذهنیت پادشاهی نام برد. نتیجه گیری: باستان شناسی شناختی با توجه به دل مشغولی دائمی و اصلی خویش با مواد و مصنوعات، می تواند سهم عمده و جایگاهی ویژه در پژوهش های علوم شناختی داشته و جنبه های مادّیت پذیر شناخت و ادراک انسانی و مادیّت ذهن را آشکار سازد.

Cognitive Archaeology; in search of materiality of the mind

Introduction: The paper concerns with definition, review of origins and evolution of subject matters as well as theoretical frameworks in cognitive archaeology.Method: Basic literature of cognitive archaeology reviewed within the principal epistemological movements in archaeology dialectically to be classified according to their special mindsets. Theoretical frameworks underlying different subject matters in cognitive archaeology explained within two categories of mentalist and materialist views of culture and main constructive elements of current theory of cognitive archaeology, material engagement theory, set apart and discussed through a case study of material culture of ancient NeoAssyrian civilization.Results: An investigation of Assyrian clay cones through material engagement theory showed that a considerable part of status and character of Assyrian king within the cosmology of that ancient civilization could not be reduced to concepts and pure mental codes, but was formed, strengthened and reproduced actively through, with and on the basis of material conditions; so that clay cones should be called as materiality of Assyrian kingdom mentality.Conclusion: Cognitive archaeology on the basis of its primary and perpetual obsession with materiality could admirably possess a central stand in cognitive sciences, revealing materialized aspects of human cognition and materiality of the mind.
