زیبایی و معنای زندگی در فلسفه فارابی: بازتعریفی برای انسان معاصر

پرسش از معنای زندگی همواره یکی از چالش‌های اساسی فلسفه بوده است. در این زمینه دو دیدگاه عمده وجود دارد: نخست، معنای زندگی به ‌عنوان امری کشف‌کردنی که در نظم متافیزیکی هستی نهفته است، و دوم، معنای زندگی به‌ عنوان امری خلق‌شدنی که فرد آن را بر اساس تجربه‌های شخصی و ارزش‌های برساخته خود ایجاد می‌کند. با بررسی نظام فکری فارابی، در این مقاله کوشش شده به این مناقشه از منظر ارتباط زیبایی و معنای زندگی پاسخ داده شود. فارابی زیبایی را نه تنها به عنوان یک امر زیباشناختی، بلکه به عنوان مسیری برای دست‌یابی به سعادت و کشف حقیقت معرفی می‌کند. از دیدگاه او، زیبایی حقیقی در مراتب وجودی مختلف، از محسوس تا عقلی، ظهور می‌یابد و انسان را به هماهنگی با حقیقت متافیزیکی رهنمون می‌سازد. این پژوهش نشان می‌دهد که در نظام فارابی، زیبایی نقشی دوگانه ایفا می‌کند: از یک سو، راهی برای کشف معنای عینی زندگی از طریق هماهنگی با عقل فعال است، و از سوی دیگر، به فرد امکان می‌دهد تا در تجربه‌های جزئی خود معنا را بازتولید و متجلی سازد. بدین ترتیب، فلسفه فارابی نه تنها دیدگاه کشف معنا را تایید می‌کند، بلکه جایگاهی برای تجربه‌های فردی در فرآیند تحقق این معنا قائل است. یافته‌های این پژوهش بیانگر آن است که فارابی با ارائۀ ساختاری عقلانی و هستی‌شناختی برای زیبایی، امکان حل مناقشۀ میان کشف و خلق معنا را فراهم می‌آورد.

beauty and the meaning of life in farabi’s philosophy: a reinterpretation for contemporary humanity

the question of life’s meaning has always been a fundamental challenge in philosophy. two major perspectives dominate this discourse: one views life’s meaning as something to be discovered within the metaphysical order of existence, while the other considers it a construct shaped by personal experiences and self-created values. this paper examines farabi’s philosophical system to address this debate through the lens of the relationship between beauty and the meaning of life. farabi presents beauty not merely as an aesthetic concept but as a pathway to attaining happiness and uncovering truth. in his view, real beauty manifests across different ontological levels, from the sensory to the intellectual, guiding human beings toward harmony with metaphysical reality. this study demonstrates that, in farabi’s framework, beauty plays a dual role: on one hand, it serves as a means to discover the objective meaning of life through alignment with the active intellect; on the other, it allows individuals to reproduce and manifest meaning within their particular experiences. thus, farabi’s philosophy not only affirms the discovery of meaning but also grants a role to personal experience in realizing this meaning. the findings of this study suggest that by providing a intellectual and ontological structure for beauty, farabi offers a resolution to the debate between the discovery and creation of life’s meaning.
