بررسی فاصله پاپیلای پاروتید تا پلن اکلوزال در مراجعین با دندان

سابقه و هدف: تعیین پلن اکلوزال یکی از مهم‌ترین مراحل کلینیکی در درمان پروتزی بیماران است. لندمارک داخل دهانی پاروتید پاپیلا به عنوان فاکتور کمکی در تعیین پلن اکلوزال استفاده می‌شود. هدف از انجام این مطالعه بررسی میزان دقیق فاصله پاروتید پاپیلا تا پلن اکلوزال به عنوان معیار کمکی جهت تعیین پلن اکلوزال بود.مواد و روش‌ها: در این مطالعه مقطعی، حجم نمونه شامل 148 نفر (74 مرد) 18 تا 50 ساله از مراجعه‌کنندگان به دانشکده دندانزشکی ساری در سال 1398 بود. فاصله عمودی پاروتید پاپیلا تا پلن اکلوزال، در حالت حداکثر تماس کاسپی، توسط پروب در هر دو طرف راست و چپ اندازه‌گیری و ثبت شد. داده‌ها با آزمون correlation و mannwhitney آنالیز شد.یافته‌ها: میانگین فاصله(میلی‌متر) بین پاپیلای پاروتید و صفحه اکلوزال در هر دو سمت راست(r) و چپ(l): در مردان 6/47 r= و 6/70 =l، در زنان 5/84 =r و 6/31=l و به طور کلی6/16=r و 6/51=l بود. این فاصله در مردان در هر دو طرف بالاتر است p در سمت راست و چپ، 0/009 و 0/044). بین فاصله ذکر شده در دو طرف تفاوت معنی‌داری وجود دارد و سمت چپ بیش‌تر است (0/03=p). بین سن و این فاصله رابطه معنی‌داری وجود نداشت (p در سمت راست و چپ، 0/083و 0/065).استنتاج: میزان فاصله پاپیلای پاروتید تا صفحه اکلوزال در دو طرف در مردان به‌طور قابل توجهی بیش‌تر از زنان است. همچنین این فاصله در سمت چپ به‌طور قابل توجهی بیش‌تر از سمت راست است. بین سن و فاصله ذکر شده رابطه معنی‌داری مشاهده نشد.

Evaluating the Distance between Parotid Papilla and Occlusal Plane in Dentate Patients

Background and purpose: Determining the occlusal plane is one of the essential clinical steps in prosthetic treatment. Intraoral landmark of parotid papilla is used as an adjunct in determining the occlusal plan. The aim of this study was to investigate the exact distance between the parotid papilla and the occlusal plane as an additional criterion for determining the occlusal plane.Materials and methods: In this crosssectional study, the study group consisted of 148 patients aged 1850 years old including 74 men attending Sari Dental School in 2019. In maximum intercuspation, vertical distance from the parotid papilla site to the occlusal surface of the first molars of the maxilla was measured by a probe. Data analysis was performed applying MannWhitney and correlation test.Results: The mean distance (mm) between the parotid papilla and the occlusal plane for the right papilla (R) was 6.16, while for the left papilla (L) it was 6.51 (R=6.47 and L=6.70 in men and R=5.84 and L=6.31 in women). The distance at both the right and left sides was higher in men (P= 0.009 and P= 0.044, respectively). Significant difference was seen between both sides in the distance which was higher at left side (P= 0.03). Findings showed no significant relationship between age and this distance at right (P= 0.083) and left (P=0.065) sides.Conclusion: The amount of parotid papilla distance to the occlusal plane on both sides was significantly higher in men than that in women. Also, this distance on the left side is significantly higher than the right side. There was no significant relationship between age and the distance stusdied.
