شاخص o: شاخص جدید برای ارزیابی وضعیت استنادات

سابقه و هدف: با توجه به نقاط قوت و ضعف وضعیت شاخص‌های موجود علم سنجی، این مطالعه با هدف ارائه شاخص جدید علم سنجی برای ارزیابی برون‌داد علمی مجلات و دانشگاه ‌های علوم پزشکی ایران انجام پذیرفت.مواد و روش‌ها: این مطالعه اکتشافی-تحلیلی با رویکرد علم سنجی، در سال 1397 بر روی تولیدات علمی 108 مجله علوم پزشکی با نمایه اسکوپوس و 63 دانشگاه علوم پزشکی کشور انجام پذیرفت. به منظور گردآوری داده‌‌ها با استفاده از چک لیستی که در برگیرنده متغیر های علم سنجی است در پایگاه اسکوپوس جستجو گردید. معیار ورود داشتن حداقل 2 مقاله در پایگاه اسکوپوس و حداقل یک استناد دریافتی به مقالات بوده است. شاخص مورد محاسبه نسبت تعداد مقالات با استناد حداقل یک به استنادات صفر براساس مفهوم شاخصo است.یافته‌ها: گزارش آماری استنادات نشان داد که میانگین شاخص h مجلات 14.06 و میانگین شاخصo مجلات ، 2.29 به دست آمده است. در دانشگاه‌‌ها بالاترین میانگین شاخصo، 2.724، شاخص h، 85.8 و شاخص h5، 45.7 که متعلق به دانشگاه‌‌های تیپ یک است، بوده است و بین سه شاخص o، h ، h5 در سه تیپ دانشگاهی ارتباط معنا داری وجود داشت(0.000=p).استنتاج: در مجموع شاخص o با شاخص h همبستگی دارد و می‌تواند در ارزیابی برون‌داد علمی دانشگاه‌ ها و نشریات بسیار کارآمد بوده و مکمل سایر شاخص‌ها باشد.

O-Index as a New Assessment Index for Citations

Background and purpose: There are some strengths and weaknesses in current indicators of scientometrics. This study aimed to present a new index of scientometrics in evaluating scientific output of Iranian medical journals.Materials and methods: This exploratory analytical study was done with a scientometric approach in scientific output of 108 medical science journals indexed in Scopus and 63 scientific output of the universities of medical sciences in Iran, 2018. Data were collected using a checklist that included scientometric factors. The inclusion criteria was to have at least two articles indexed in the Scopus database and at least one citation. The index to be calculated was the ratio of the number of articles with at least one citation to zero according to the Odds index.Results: Findings showed that the mean hindex of journals was 14.06 and the mean Oindex was 2.29. In universities, the highest mean values of Oindex, hindex, and h5index were 2.724, 85.8, and 45.7, respectively belonging to type I universities. There were significant relationships in O, h, and h5 indices between the three types of universities (P= 0.000).Conclusion: According to this study, the Oindex was correlated with the hindex and could be very useful in evaluating the scientific output of universities and journals alongside other indices.
