بررسی میزان آگاهی، عملکرد و عوارض مواجهه با گاز فرمالدهید

سابقه و هدف: فرمالدهید در اتاق‌عمل‌ها جهت ضدعفونی کردن و استریلیزاسیون ابزار جراحی استفاده می‌شود. استنشاق گاز فرمالدهید باعث بروز عوارض در افراد می‌شود. افزایش آگاهی درباره استفاده از آن، می‌تواند از بروز از عوارض جلوگیری نماید. این مطالعه با موضوع بررسی میزان آگاهی، عملکرد و عوارض ناشی از مواجهه با گاز فرمالدهیددر پرسنل و دانشجویان اتاق‌عمل مراکز آموزشی درمانی دانشگاه علوم پزشکی مازندران در سال 1398انجام شد.مواد و روش‌ها: این مطالعه یک مطالعه توصیفی مقطعی است که 120 نفر از پرسنل و دانشجویان اتاق‌عمل، درسال 1398، پرسشنامه‌ی مربوط‌ به آن‌را تکمیل نمودند. این پرسشنامه محقق‌ساخته که روایی و پایایی آن تایید شده‌است، شامل 6 سوال درباره اطلاعات دموگرافیک، 9 سوال آگاهی، 13 سوال عملکرد و 18 سوال عوارض بود. آگاهی و عملکرد در سه حیطه خوب، متوسط و ضعیف تقسیم شد. از آزمون chisquare جهت آنالیز داده‌ها استفاده شد.یافته‌ها: با توجه به این که پاسخ به 4 تا 6 سوال درست از سوالات آگاهی نشان‌دهنده آگاهی در حیطه متوسط است 77.3درصد از پرسنل‌اتاق‌عمل و 73.3درصد از دانشجویان در این حیطه قرار گرفتند. 64درصد پرسنل و66.7درصد از دانشجویان عملکرد خوبی داشتند. بیش‌ترین عارضه در پرسنل ‌اتاق‌عمل، سردرد(83.6درصد) و در دانشجویان سوزش چشم(60.7درصد) گزارش شد. نتایج نشان دادکه 74.2درصد از پرسنل و 93درصد از دانشجویان هیچ‌گونه استانداردی درباره مواجهه با فرمالدهید مطالعه نکرده ‌بودند.استنتاج: باتوجه به خطرات مواجهه با گاز فرمالدهید، به بیمارستان‌ها و مراکزدرمانی توصیه می‌شود، دوره‌های‌آموزشی جهت افزایش میزان آگاهی و کاهش عوارض حاصل از مواجهه با آن برگزار کنند.

Evaluation of Awareness, Performance and Side Effects of Formaldehyde Exposure

Background and purpose: Formaldehyde is used in operating rooms to disinfect and sterilize surgical instruments. Inhalation of formaldehyde gas causes various respiratory complications in people. Awareness on the use of formaldehyde can prevent many complications. This study was conducted to determine the level of knowledge and practice about formaldehyde exposure in the staff and students of the operating room and complications caused by this exposure in Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences, 2019.Materials and methods: A crosssectional descriptive study was performed in 120 operating room staff and students. The participants completed a researcher made questionnaire. The validity and reliability of the questionnaire were previously confirmed. It included 6 items about demographic information, 9 on awareness, 13 about performance and 18 items about the complications of formaldehyde exposure. Awareness and practice were classified according to being good, moderate, and poor. Chisquare test was applied to analyze the data.Results: Correct answer to 46 questions about awareness showed moderate knowledge, so, 77.3% of the operating room staff and 73.3% of the students reported moderate awareness about formaldehyde exposure. The performance in 64% of the staff and 66.7% of the students was good. The most common complications in staff and students were headache (83.6%) and eye irritation (60.7%), respectively. The majority of the operating room staff (74.2%) and students (93%) had not studied any standards for formaldehyde exposure.Conclusion: Occupational exposures to formaldehyde is associated with many health risks, so, hospitals and treatment centers are recommended to hold training courses to increase awareness and reduce the complications of formaldehyde exposure.
