تبیین تفاوت‌های متن روایی و غیرروایی

در گفتار روزمره، «داستان» و «روایت» را به جای هم به کار می‌بریم و کمتر میان آن دو تفاوت قائل می‌شویم، حال آنکه چنین نیست و اشتباه است و «داستان» با «روایت» و نیز «متن روایی» و «متن غیرروایی» تفاوت‌هایی با هم دارند. داستان، چیزی است که اتفاق می‌افتد، در حالی که روایت، نحوه بیان آن رخداد است؛ چنان‌که اگر بخواهیم داستانی واحد را یک بار برای کودکان و بار دیگر برای بزرگسالان تعریف کنیم، هر بار از شیوه بیان متفاوتی استفاده می‌کنیم، بدون اینکه پیام و درونمایه داستان تغییر کند. همچنین، بین «متن» و «متن روایی» نیز تفاوت‌هایی وجود دارد. «متن»، یک شیء، اعمّ از تصاویر، واژگان و... است، در حالی که «متن روایی»، متنی است که داستانی را نقل می‌کند؛ مثلا اسناد مربوط به جنگ سرد، متن روایی نیست، در حالی که یک داستان کوتاه، متن روایی است؛ زیرا بین عناصر سازنده آن رابطه علّی و معلولی وجود دارد. می‌توان چنین گفت که هر روایتی یک گفتمان است، اما همه گفتمان‌ها روایت نیستند. پژوهش حاضر به شیوه توصیفی تحلیلی و با بهره‌گیری از منابع کتابخانه‌ای، به تبیین تمایزهای «متن روایی» و «غیر روایی» می‌پردازد.

An Explanation of the Differences between Narrative and NonNarrative Texts

In everyday talk, we usually use the terms story and narrative interchangeably which is wrong. Not only story is different from narrative, but also there is a difference between narrative and nonnarrative texts. Story is what happens while narrative is the way an event is expressed. For example, a single story can be narrated differently for children and adults using different rhetorical devices without any noticeable change in the general theme and message. By the same token, there is a difference between text and narrative text. While a text comprises of different objects such as images and words, a narrative text is a text telling the story. For example, the documents related to the Cold War are not a narrative text, but a short story is a narrative text because there are cause and effect relationships between its constructing elements. It can be stated that every narrative is a discourse, but all discourses are not narrative. The preset study, with use of an analytical approach and secondary research aimed at explaining the difference between narrative and nonnarrative texts.
