نظام سیاسی عربستان همواره به‌عنوان نظامی مطرح بوده که فعالیت‌های حزبی در آن منع شده است. این امر موجب شده است که فضای فعالیت سیاسی وارد مرحله غیررسمی شود. دراین‌میان، اما مسئله مهم این است که باتوجه‌به این فضا آیا نقش اپوزیسیون و گروه‌های سیاسی مخالف حاکمیت در عربستان نیز بیشتر می‌شود؟ چگونه این امکان وجود دارد که این گروه‌ها نظام سیاسی سعودی را برای امتیازگیری یا تغییر سیاسی تحت فشار قرار دهند؟ در پاسخ می­توان گفت که برای چنین اقدامی ازسوی اپوزیسیون دو نااطمینانی کلیدی حمایت یا عدم حمایت کنشگران خارجی و فضای ثبات سیاسی داخلی و ارتباط آن با چهار وجه اپوزیسیون درون‌مرزی درون‌حاکمیتی، اپوزیسیون درون‌مرزی برون‌حاکمیتی، اپوزیسیون برون‌مرزی درون‌حاکمیتی و اپوزیسیون برون‌مرزی برون‌حاکمیتی اهمیت می­یابد. براین‌اساس، تلاش شده است تا نقش گروه‌ها، احزاب و نیروهای اپوزیسیون عربستان درقالب آینده‌های بدیل و بررسی سناریوها مورد بررسی قرار بگیرد.

saudi arabia’s political system has invariably been known as a regime whose partisan activities are prohibited. this has caused the atmosphere of political activities to enter an informal phase. however, the important question is: considering such an atmosphere, does the role of the opposition and the opposition political groups against the saudi sovereignty take an increased turn? how is it possible that these groups can exert a pressure on saudi’s political system for gaining concession or political change? to answer this question, one might say that two key uncertainties come to matter for this take place on the part of the opposition: namely, support or lack of support on the part of foreign actors, and the internal political stability and its relationship with four aspects, namely the intraterritorial opposition withing the sovereignty, the intraterritorial opposition outside the sovereignty, the extraterritorial opposition within the sovereignty, and the extraterritorial opposition outside the sovereignty. on this basis, the research tries to study the role of opposition forces, groups and parties in the form of alternative futures as well as to examine scenarios.
