بررسی میزان آگاهی دندانپزشکان عمومی یزد از علل بوی بد‌دهان و درمان آن در سال 1397

مقدمه: بوی بد‌دهان بوی نامطبوعی است که در هنگام صحبت کردن یا تنفس احساس می‌شود. دندانپزشکان به‌عنوان اولین افراد مورد سوال در این زمینه نقش به‌سزایی در تشخیص، درمان و در صورت نیاز ارجاع بیمار دارند. در این مطالعه میزان آگاهی دندانپزشکان عمومی شهریزد از علل بوی بد‌دهان و روش های درمان آن در سال 1397بررسی گردید.روش بررسی: در این مطالعه توصیفی مقطعی،126 نفر از دندانپزشکان عمومی شهر یزد به‌طور تصادفی انتخاب و پرسش‌نامه‌ای شامل بخش‌های اطلاعات دموگرافیک (12 سوال)، سوالات مربوط به علل (12 سوال)، روش‌های تشخیص (5 سوال) و روش‌های درمان بوی بد‌دهان (3‌سوال) را تکمیل نمودند. سپس داده‌ها مورد تجزیه و تحلیل آماری با استفاده از نرم افزارversion 23 spss و آزمون‌های students' t-test و anova و chi-square قرار گرفتند.نتایج: میانگین نمره کلی آگاهی شرکت‌کنندگان 3/29 ±13/23 بود. میانگین نمره آگاهی در بعد علل 2/36 ±7/50، در بعد روش‌های تشخیصی 1/39 ±3/27، و در بعد درمان‌های بوی بد‌دهان 0/74 ±2/27 بود. 2/4 % از شرکت کنندگان سطح آگاهی ضعیف، 42/9 % سطح آگاهی متوسط و 54/8 % سطح آگاهی خوب داشتند. رابطه معنا‌دار و معکوسی بین نمره آگاهی افراد با سن و مدت اشتغال به حرفه دندانپزشکی (0/006=p) مشاهده شد. افراد شاغل در مراکز دولتی میانگین نمره آگاهی بالاتری داشتند (0/004 =p). نتیجه‌گیری: شرکت کنندگان در این پژوهش از سطح دانش و آگاهی خوبی در این مورد برخوردار بودند اما از آنجایی که دندانپزشکان مسن‌تر با سابقه کاری بیشتر آگاهی کمتری نسبت به دندانپزشکان جوان‌تر داشتند لذا برگزاری دوره‌های باز‌آموزی جهت ارتقای سطح آگاهی این افراد توصیه می‌شود.

Investigation of the Level of General Dentists' Awareness about the Causes of Halitosis and its Treatment in Yazd in 2018

Introduction: The unpleasant odor felt in speaking or breathing may be the sign of systemic disorders or some localized lesions in the mouth and teeth. As the first people to be questioned in this field, dentists play a critical role in diagnosis, treatment, and refer to a specialist, so their knowledge in this matter is important This study aimed to investigate the knowledge of Yazd general dentists about the causes of halitosis and its treatment methods in 2018.Methods: In this crosssectional study, 126 Yazd general dentists, selected randomly, completed a questionnaire, including demographic information (12 questions), the causes of halitosis (12 questions), methods of halitosis detection (5 questions), and methods of its treatment (3 questions). The data were then coded and statistically analyzed with SPSS version 23 software and Students' ttest, ANOVA, and Chisquare tests.Results: The mean score of the participants' awareness was 13.23 ±3 3.29. Their mean score of the awareness in etiology, diagnostic methods, and the treatment amounted to 7.50 ± 2.36, 3.27 ± 1.39 and 2.27 ±0 0.74, respectively. Of them, 2.4%, 42.9%, and 54.8% had a low, moderate, and a good level of knowledge. There was a significant and inverse relationship between the knowledge score of the dentists with their age and duration of employment in the dental profession (p=0.006). Those who worked in government centers had a higher average knowledge score (p=0.004).Conclusion: Yazd general dentists had a good knowledge level about the halitosis. Since there is a significant and inverse relationship between the mean score of knowledge with the age and duration of employment in the dental profession. Therefore, holding retraining courses is recommended to raise the level of awareness of these people.
