Evaluating Surplus Agricultural Production for Agro-based Industries in Falavarjan Town of Esfahan Province

Establishment and development of agro-based industries is highly significant as aproduction process which is supportive of agriculture and is also a strongly potentialsubstitute to absorb and attract the excessive workforces of agriculture in rural areas .flavarjan town is considered one of the most strategic industrial and agriculturalregions of esfahan province due to its abundant agricultural productions and its longtermrecord of industry. this town is a very appropriate location for establishingconversional and complementary units with regard to its surplus production of someagricultural products such as onion, potato, cucumber, leafy and nodal vegetables, riceand fruit.in this study, first the rate of productions of cultivation, garden and animal husbandryhas been investigated; then the amount of waste and fresh-eaten waste of every productand also the shortage and surplus of productions is evaluated separately. in the nextstage, with regard to the consumption of the active or developing units of conversionaland complementary agricultural industries of the area, and also with respect to thepotential capacity of the town, and of course with due attention to the surplusproduction of the area, those productions with higher process capacity for thedevelopment and extension of conversional and complementary industries have beendetermined. the types of products and the extent of their productivity illustrate thatthere is an appropriate ground for developing conversional and complementaryindustries in this area . according to the findings, products such as rice, leafy and nodalvegetables, potato , onion, cucumber, quince, milk and eggs prove to deserve a higherpriority of programming for the producers.
