فراز و نشیب آموزش عالی و آموزش ریاضیات در ایران معاصر

ابتدا در مورد تاریخ تاسیس موسسات آموزش عالی ایران به سبک جدید و انتشار برخی از مجلات ریاضی در نیمهٔ اول قرن چهاردهم مطالب مختصری ارائه می‌گردد و سپس تحولات رشتهٔ ریاضی در نیمهٔ دوم قرن چهاردهم و فراز و نشیب این رشته بررسی خواهد شد. در مورد رشد کمی و کیفی رشتهٔ ریاضی، نقش انجمن ریاضی ایران، کنفرانس ریاضی ایران، کنفرانس آموزش ریاضی ایران، مجلات تخصصی و مقالات پژوهشی حوزهٔ ریاضی، نهضت ترجمه و تالیف کتاب‌های ریاضی، ویراستاری متون دانشگاهی (به‌خصوص در رشتهٔ ریاضی)، نقش دکتر مصاحب در ترویج ریاضیات جدید و تربیت مدرس ریاضی برای دانشگاه‌ها، نهضت واژه‌گزینی، بنیاد دانشنامهٔ نگاری ایران و دانشنامهٔ ریاضی، نقش فرهنگستان‌ زبان و ادب فارسی‏، و فرهنگستان علوم نیز مطالبی ارائه خواهد شد. ضمن بررسی برخی از چالش‌های رشتهٔ ریاضی، ازجمله چگونگی تربیت معلم، نقش دانشگاه فرهنگیان، پدیدهٔ نمره‌دهی در مدرسه و دانشگاه و ضعف آموزش‌های مدرسه‌ای‏، نکاتی هم در مورد هنر معلمی ارائه می‌شود و راهکارهایی برای برون رفت از چالش‌های موجود رشتهٔ ریاضی پیشنهاد خواهد شد. البته مطالب ارائه‌شده در این مقاله سیر تاریخی و تحولات رشته‌های آمار و علوم کامپیوتر را در بر نمی‌گیرد و بهتر است در این مورد استادان این رشته‌ها تحولات تاریخی آن‌ها را عرضه کنند.
