بررسی مثال‌های نقض در ‏کتاب اثبات‌‌ها و ابطال‌ها

لاکاتوش در کتاب دوران‌سازش به نام اثبات‌‌ها و ابطال‌ها‎ از طریق بحث دربارهٔ تاریخچه و پیشرفت‌های روش‌شناختی صورت‌گرفته در بررسی فرمول اویلر‏، ‎v-e+f=2‎‌‏، برای چند‌وجهی‌های سه‌‌بُعدی، روش اثبات‌‌ها و ابطال‌ها‌ را توضیح می‌دهد. لاکاتوش تاریخچهٔ چندوجهی‌ها را مثال خوبی برای توضیح فلسفه و روش‌شناسی خودش در ریاضیات و هندسه می‌دانست. تمرکز ما در اینجا روی ویژگی‌های ریاضی و توپولوژیکی است که در رهبرد روشمندانهٔ لاکاتوش نقش دارند. برای هر مثال و مثال نقضی که لاکاتوش آورده است، همتای توپولوژیکش را به‌اختصار شرح می‌دهیم. سپس پیشینۀ ریاضی و مبنای فلسفهٔ لاکاتوش درخصوص روش‌شناسی ریاضیات را در ضمن فرمول اویلر بیان می‌کنیم، و بدین‌ترتیب شناختی از کارکرد مفاهیم راهنمون ایجابی و سلبی لاکاتوش حاصل خواهیم کرد.

an examination of counterexamples in proofs andrefutations

lakatos’s seminal work proofs and refutations introduced the methods ofproofs and refutations by discussing the history and methodolog- ical development ofeuler’s formula v − e + f = 2 for three dimensional polyhedra. lakatos consideredthe history of polyhedra illustrating a good ex- ample for his philosophy andmethodology of mathematics and geometry. in this study, we focus on the mathematicaland topological properties which play a role in lakatos’s methodological approach.for each example and counterexample given by lakatos, we briefly outlineits topological counter- part. we thus present the mathematical background and basisof lakatos’s philosophy of mathematical methodology in the case of euler’s formula,and thereby develop some intuitions about the function of his notions of positive andnegative heuristics.
