چکیده    زمینه و هدف: هنر محیطی از گرایش‌های هنر معاصر است که به‌واسطه اهداف و شیوه های اجرا به شاخه‌های متعددی تقسیم می‌شود. تعدادی از این شاخه ها نیز در ارتباط با مسائل و بحران‌های زیست‌محیطی هستند. هنرمندانی که دغدغه سلامت محیط‌زیست دارند ازآنجاکه به‌طور مستقیم در محیط کار می‌کنند آثارشان را در راستای آگاهی بخشی نسبت به پیامدهای آسیب‌زای محیط‌زیست خلق می‌کنند. ازاین‌رو هدف این پژوهش شناخت نقش و اهمیت کنشگری هنرمندان هنر محیطی در آگاهی بخشی نسبت به تهدیدهای زیست‌محیطی به‌طور مشخص در جزیره هرمز است.پژوهش حاضر به روش توصیفی تحلیلی به مطالعه برخی از آثار هنر محیطی اجراشده در جزیره هرمز می‌پردازد تا بر اساس ارتباط اثر هنری با مقولات زیست‌محیطی، پیامدهای مثبت و منفی آن‌ها را مرتبط با مسائل محیط‌زیست این جزیره واکاوی کند. نمونه‌ها مورد بررسی این پژوهش از بین آثار متعدد هنر محیطی اجراشده در جزیره هرمز و در راستای هدف پژوهش انتخاب‌ شده‌اند.یافته‌ها: تحلیل نمونه‌های پژوهش نشان می‌دهد برخی از هنرمندان محیطی توانسته‌اند با تمرکز بر مهم‌ترین عوامل طبیعی این جزیره مانند حیوانات بومی، کانی‌ها و خاک‌های رنگی آثاری را خلق کنند که منجر به توجه بیشتر مردم به حفظ آن‌ها بشود، هرچند اجرای آثاری مانند فرش خاکی پیامدهای ناگواری برای زیست محیط جزیره به همراه داشته است. دغدغه دیگر هنرمندان مورد پژوهش این مقاله انواع آلودگی‌های محیطی این جزیره بوده است که اجرای آثاری با استفاده از مواد بازیافتی تلاشی برای نشان دادن اهمیت حفظ محیط‌زیست این جزیره بوده است.بحث و نتیجه‌گیری: علی‌رغم تلاش هنرمندان، کمبود دانش عمومی و ضعف حمایت‌های نهادی باعث شده است تا مجموعه آثار ایشان بیش از اینکه تاثیر ماندگاری برای حفظ محیط‌زیست این جزیره داشته باشد بیشتر به‌نوعی مرثیه‌خوانی و سوگواری پس از فاجعه‌های زیست‌محیطی تبدیل‌ شده باشد.
