ارزیابی دانش و عملکرد دندانپزشکان در مورد اصول حفاظت در برابر پرتوهای یونیزان

مقدمه: امروزه استفاده از تجهیزات رادیوگرافی دندانی در مراکز دندانپزشکی به علت کاربرد زیاد در تشخیص بیماری های دندانی افزایش یافته است. در نتیجه نگرانی در خصوص در معرض قراگیری مکرر به این سطح دوز تابشی کم در حال افزایش است. بنابراین آگاهی و عملکرد دندانپزشکان در مورد حفاظت در برابر پرتو برای خود و بیمار ضروری است. هدف از این مطالعه ارزیابی دانش و عملکرد دندانپزشکان در رابطه با حفاظت پرتویی است.مواد و روش ها: این مطالعه مقطعی بر اساس یک پرسشنامه در چند شهر ایران انجام شد. بخش اول پرسشنامه، شامل اطلاعاتی در مورد جنسیت، تعداد سال سابقه کار و سابقه شرکت در کارگاه های حفاظت در برابر پرتو بود. بخش دوم، سوم و چهارم به ترتیب شامل سئولاتی در مورد رادیوبیولوژی، حفاظت پرتویی و عملکرد بود.یافته ها: 94 دندانپزشک در این مطالعه شرکت کردند. میانگین نمره دندانپزشکان (از 5 نمره) از دانش رادیوبیولوژی، دانش حفاظت پرتویی و عملکرد به ترتیب 1.1 ± 2.66، 1.01 ± 2.80 و 1.37 ± 2.87 بود. نتایج تحلیل پیرسون نشان داد که دانش کلی ارتباط معنی داری با عملکرد دارد (0.014 =p). همچنین ارتباط معنی داری بین سابقه شرکت در کارگاه های حفاظت پرتویی و عملکرد وجود دارد (0.01 =p).بحث و نتیجه گیری: دانش بیشتر از اثرات پرتوهای یونیزان بر بدن و آگاهی بیشتر از اصول حفاظت پرتویی، به دندانپزشکان در رعایت بهتر اصول عملی حفاظت پرتویی کمک می کند. همچنین شرکت در کارگاه های حفاظت پرتویی باعث افزایش دانش دندانپزشکان و در نتیجه بهبود عملکرد آنها می شود.

Assessment of dentists' knowledge and practice regarding the principles of protection against ionizing radiation

Background: Today, the use of dental radiography equipment in dental centers has increased due to its high application in the diagnosis of dental diseases. As a result, concerns are increasing regarding repeated exposure to this low dose level of radiation. Therefore, the knowledge and practice of dentists about radiation protection are essential for themselves and the patients. This study aimed to assess the knowledge and practice of dentists about radiation protection.Materials and Methods: This crosssectional study was performed based on a questionnaire in several cities of Iran. The first part of the questionnaire included such information as gender, years of work experience, and participation in radiation protection workshops. The second, third, and fourth sections consisted of questions on radiobiology, radiation protection, and performance, respectively.Results: In this study, 94 dentists participated, and the mean scores of dentists (out of 5 points) for radiobiology knowledge, radiation protection knowledge, and performance were obtained at 2.66 ±1.1, 2.80 ±1.01, and 2.87 ±1.37, respectively. The results of Pearson analysis showed that general knowledge had a significant relationship with performance (P=0.014). There was also a significant relationship between the history of participation in radiation protection workshops and performance (P=0.01).Conclusion: It was found that more knowledge about the effects of ionizing radiation on the body and more awareness of the principles of radiation protection would help dentists to better observe the practical principles of radiation protection. Also, participating in radiation protection workshops could increase dentists #39; knowledge, and therefore, improve their performance.
